Singalila National Park

Singalila National Park is located on the Singalila Ridge at an altitude of more than 7,000 feet above sea level, in the Darjeeling district of West Bengal, India. It is well known owing to the Sandakphu trekking route that runs through it. The park covers an area of 78.6 sq km (square kilometer).

The best times to visit the park are from March to June, and September to December. The nearest airport is Bagdogra, which is 90 km (kilometer) away. Siliguri is the nearest railway station, which is 80 km away. The park is closed between June 16 - September 15 every year due to the monsoons.

The reintroduction of the red panda in the park under 'Project Red Panda' was filmed by noted Indian filmmakers Rajesh Bedi and Naresh Bedi. The documentary, Cherub of the Mist, won the 'Best Conservation and Environmental Film' award at the 29th International Wildlife Film Festival held in Montana.
